2/17 5:00 p.m. - Outage Restoration Update

Roughly half of Jackson EMC’s 76,000 members who lost power at the peak of the storm now have power, and Jackson EMC has an additional 350 workers from across the Southeast working to help restore power to our remaining members.

Jackson EMC personnel will continue to work around the clock to ensure all outages are restored as quickly as possible. In addition to dealing with ice-covered lines, trees and limbs, line workers are also working to replace 38 broken poles that will need to be replaced before power can be restored. Current estimates are that the vast majority of remaining members will have power restored by late Wednesday, but some will be restored sooner depending on how crews are able to progress.

Those without power can see a map of current outages, report an outage, or get updates on their outage on the cooperative’s website at www.jacksonemc.com.
