April Is Lineman Appreciation Month
Linemen serve on the frontline of our nation’s energy supply, working in challenging and often dangerous conditions to keep the lights on. To honor their service, the Georgia General Assembly recently adopted State Resolution 323, officially recognizing April as Lineman Appreciation Month in Georgia.
At Jackson EMC, we’re taking this opportunity to acknowledge our linemen for the services they perform around the clock.
“Linemen are the first responders of our workforce, and they’re always ready to get the job done, day or night,” said Jackson EMC president & CEO Chip Jakins. “Whether they’re restoring power after a major storm or maintaining critical infrastructure for our electric system, linemen are at the heart of everything we do.”
Jackson EMC is proud to honor the 132 linemen who maintain more than 13,000 miles of power lines in our service territory. As our way of saying thanks, we’ll be hosting employee events at each office this month, where we plan to release a special Lineman Appreciation video.
Jackson EMC invites all co-op members to take a moment to thank a lineman for the incredible service they provide our community. On April 10, or any time in the month of April, use #ThankALineman on social media to show your support for the men and women who light our lives.
