Cajun Shrimp Kabobs

Spice up your traditional barbecue with this low-calorie dish that's sure to please your taste buds.

  • 3 lbs. jumbo shrimp (devein and peel)

  • 1 tsp. onion powder

  • 1 tsp. garlic powder

  • 1/2 tsp. paprika

  • 1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper

  • 1/4 tsp. cracked black pepper

  • 1/2 tsp. fresh thyme

  • 2 red bell peppers (chopped coarsely)

  • 2 green peppers (chopped coarsely)

  • 24 wooden skewers (soak in water before use)

  • 1 lemon (juice of)

  • 2 tablespoons canola oil

Combine dry ingredients. Add lemon juice and oil and mix in shrimp. Marinate for 20 minutes in the refrigerator. Assemble skewers with shrimp, peppers and onion. Grill on the barbecue pit for 2 to 3 minutes.

Only 109 calories per skewer.
