Commercial/Industrial Engineer, Corporate Office in Jefferson, GA

This position provides technical assistance and advice to the Director, Legislative Affairs and Industrial Marketing, Commercial/Industrial Marketing Representatives, and to potential and existing commercial and industrial accounts. This position will participate in developing and implementing rates and special services to potential and existing industrial accounts; assist with projects related to systems engineering, financial analysis, marketing, and data analysis, and provide assistance to the Revenue Projections committee by collecting, compiling, and presenting all necessary usage and budget information to the committee.

Other duties include providing technical evaluations of commercial and industrial products in the area of HVAC, indoor and outdoor lighting, UPS, power quality, generators, etc. This position will also coordinate and assist with developing and implementing a strategic marketing plan for all prospective and existing industrial accounts, with particular emphasis on satisfying and retaining current customers. Additional areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to, assisting with preparing and delivering marketing presentations to commercial and industrial prospects as well as providing heat gain/loss calculations, rate calculations, energy, etc. with the intent of assisting customers who may need technical advice or assistance. In order to accomplish these goals, the person in this position will be required to actively participate in area industrial/technical groups, develop and maintain a list of key commercial and industrial accounts, and maintain continuous study of both established and new developments in the electrical energy field.

The successful candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university. An undergraduate curriculum with an emphasis in electrical or mechanical engineering is preferred. Two years of electrical design experience either with an electric utility or involving Commercial/Industrial power systems and/or related HVAC systems application and layout is required.
