Director, Business Analytics, Corporate Office in Jefferson, GA
This position provides for the overall management, planning, organizing, and directing of Business Analytics related functions, including collaboration with multiple departments to identify and develop analytical tools and processes for data collection, and development of techniques and methods to address complex business needs through formulation and generation of company and industry statistical reports to determine trends, monitor performance, and track programs. This position also provides support in all areas of Strategic Planning and Analytics, including strategic planning, rate tracking and planning, and risk mitigation strategies.
This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science or related quantitative field. A Graduate Degree in Business Administration with course work in strategy, statistical analysis, forecasting, project management, data mining, or finance is preferred. The following certifications are also preferred: CAP (Certified Analytics Professional) Certification, CBAP (Certified Business Analyst Professional) Certification, or CCBA (Certification of Competency in Business Analytics).
This position requires a minimum of the most recent five (5) years progressive experience in a related field of planning, statistics, or forecasting. This position also requires the following: experience using quantitative methods to solve complex, meaningful analytical problems; exposure to, or previous experience with, changes in business strategy or processes; a fundamental knowledge of relational database concepts as related to business information systems; and a high level understanding of structured query languages and other information access techniques. Must be conversant in data storage methodologies and database design techniques in order to communicate effectively with Information Technology personnel to reach a mutual understanding of business data needs. It is preferred that candidates have supervisory experience, experience in the electric utility industry, and experience with budgeting, financial analysis, planning and financial forecasting, managing projects, and utility rate design.
