Intern Q & A: Morgan Clerici

Meet Morgan Clerici, a high school intern in Residential Marketing at Jackson EMC. Morgan is a senior at Jackson County Comprehensive High School, where she’s a competitive cheerleader. She hopes to attend either the University of Georgia or the University of North Georgia, where she plans to study math education.

We sat down with Morgan to get to know her and ask her about what it’s been like as high school intern here at Jackson EMC.

Q: To kick things off, what’s your favorite TV Show?

A: The Vampire Diaries

Q: Favorite ice cream flavor?

A: Mint Chocolate Chip

Q: What are you most excited about for your senior year of high school?

A: Graduation - we’re going to Hawaii for my senior trip!

Q: What are you looking forward to most about college?

A: I think I’m most excited about the freedom I’ll have and the chance to learn to be on my own.

Q: How did you hear about this internship opportunity?

A: Mrs. (Laura) Boswell, the work-based learning coordinator at Jackson County Comprehensive High School, told me that Jackson EMC was looking for interns, so I decided to apply. I knew it would be valuable to have real, office experience before I start college.

Q: How would you describe your role as an intern here at Jackson EMC?

A: I do data entry and inventory for Jackson EMC’s Residential Marketing team. Recently, I’ve been helping with event planning and assisting on other projects as well.

Q: What’s been the most exciting thing about this internship so far?

A: This might sound weird, but I’ve really enjoyed organizing our supply closet. Putting everything away and having it organized has been a really rewarding project.

Q: What’s been one of the most surprising aspects of this position?

A: How well I get along with my bosses! I thought as a high schooler working with adults, and having a different mindset, that we wouldn’t get along. But, everyone is so nice. I actually really enjoy the people I work with.

Q: How would you describe your overall experience as an intern at Jackson EMC?

A: Everyone is so welcoming. It’s like a family. Everyone will ask about your day. They’re all really nice and they make an effort to talk to you.

Q: Finally, what would you say to someone thinking about applying to be a high school intern here?

A: It’s a really good environment and it prepares you for life outside of high school!
