Letter to Members from Chip Jakins: Our Response to COVID-19
Dear Members,
Jackson EMC is focused on the health and well-being of our members, employees and the communities we serve. Our Emergency Management Team has implemented our pandemic response plan to address increasing concerns and mitigate the impact of the coronavirus on our co-op and our communities. Our plan places the highest value on the safety of our employees and members.
The pandemic response plan calls for limiting public access to our offices. Beginning Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 27, our offices will be open for drive-thru traffic only. We will also scale-down office personnel, with most of our employees telecommuting. During this period, we’ll suspend disconnections of service for nonpayment.
Jackson EMC is always a 24-hour operation with employees on-site and on-call. We will remain available by phone and email and stand ready to respond to any power outages. MyJacksonEMC.com and our MyJacksonEMC mobile app offer payment and energy use monitoring options from your phone or computer. I encourage you to use these resources.
We want members to know we take the coronavirus disease pandemic seriously. We are actively monitoring the coronavirus updates from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and will continue to respond based on the best advice of governments, public health authorities and medical professionals. If you have any questions, call us at 1-800-462-3691 or email [email protected].
Sincerely,
Chip Jakins,
Jackson EMC President/CEO
