Maloof appointed to Jackson EMC Foundation Board
JEFFERSON, Ga. (July 27, 2012) - Lisa Segars Maloof, Dean of the Lanier Technical College Winder-Barrow Campus, has been appointed to the Jackson EMC Foundation Board of Directors, succeeding Gwen Hill, who retired from the board in July.
The Jackson EMC Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization set up to represent the members of Jackson EMC and distribute funds collected from participating members through Operation Round Up. The 11-member volunteer Foundation board of directors meets regularly to review and select grant applications for worthwhile, charitable purposes that will improve lives and respond to immediate needs.
Since Operation Round Up’s beginning nearly seven years ago, the Foundation has awarded nearly $6.8 million through 660 grants to organizations and 239 to individuals.
A life-long resident of Barrow County, Maloof holds a BSEd in Business Education and a MEd in Adult Education, and has worked in technical education for the past twenty-six years.
Currently a member of the Barrow County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Maloof also served on the board of directors from 2001-2008, and served as board chair in 2007. In addition to her service on the board directors, she has chaired and served on various Chamber committees. She is an active member of the Winder First United Methodist Church, a member of the Winder Rotary Club, and serves on the board of the Winder-Barrow Coalition for Adult and Continuing Education. She is also a former member of the Boys and Girls Club of Winder-Barrow Board of Directors. Maloof chaired the Barrow County Education SPLOST in 2006 and was presented a Community Service Award by the Brotherhood Club in 1998.
