Planned Power Outages Will Impact Norcross Area
Jackson EMC is upgrading its electrical system in the Norcross area in Gwinnett County to ensure continuous, reliable electricity. For the safety of crews, power will be briefly turned off in the area for up to 1.5 hours during the planned maintenance times.
The next planned outages are:
- May 24 at 7 p.m. in the area along Steve Reynolds Boulevard near Beaver Ruin Road, as well as International Court and Communications Drive. If weather does not permit work on this date, we will reschedule for May 25 at 7 p.m.
- May 31 at 7 p.m. in the area around Beaver Ruin Road and Steve Reynolds Boulevard, including International Boulevard and Park Drive. If weather does not permit work on this date, we will reschedule for June 1 at 7 p.m.
Jackson EMC crews will perform the maintenance work on several days in spring 2022. Impacted members will be notified by letter and email before their planned outage day and time.
“We’re upgrading a nearby substation to double capacity and our crews will perform work at each transformer to accept a higher voltage,” said Craig Roberts, Gwinnett District Director of Engineering and Operations. “This upgrade to our system is an important investment for our members. We’ll work safely and quickly to keep the interruption to a minimum."
If the weather does not permit work on planned dates, the work will be rescheduled and will be posted on this page.
