Power Restoration Complete Following Evening Storms

(June 14, 2013) The line of thunderstorms that moved through northeast Georgia yesterday evening left 4,062 Jackson EMC customers without power. Within 2 hours, the cooperative had restored power to 2,570 of those affected, and line crews worked through the night to repair damages from the storm. High winds brought down trees and tree limbs, tearing down power lines and breaking four power poles (Gillsville, Braselton, Clarks Bridge Road and Gum Springs). As with all major outage situations, our crews work first to repair facilities that will restore power to the most customers. By 7:00 a.m. today, power had been restored to all but 25 customers in the Kubota Drive area of Hall County.

Crews have now restored power to all Jackson EMC customers affected by the storm.
