Saturated Ground, Wind Hamper Restoration Efforts

(April 6, 2017) Heavy rainfall from Wednesday’s waves of thunderstorms saturated the ground, leaving trees susceptible to today’s strong winds. Jackson EMC is experiencing a new round of outages caused by trees falling on power lines across our 10-county service area.

As of 1 p.m., 426 members remain without power in Gwinnett (131), Madison (97), Barrow (74), Jackson (63), Hall (34), and Clarke (22), and Banks (5) counties.

Line crews continue to work restoring these outages as quickly as conditions and safety allow.

Updated information is available on our website outage map at http://jemc.maps.sienatech.com/.

Members may report outages from their computer or mobile device on the website, www.jacksonemc.com, or by calling 1-800-245-4044.

We will continue to send updates on any outages and our restoration efforts.
